Visuals in Advertising and Public Relations

It is important to know how to visuals in advertising or public relations. Luckily there are a lot of platforms available for you to do so. Some might include canva, adobe photoshop, or spec.

Canva is website that gives people access to graphic design tools. It allows users to create web and print media designs and graphics. It is a user friendly to new designers but it is still used just as much by professionals.

In comparison to canva adobe products such as illustrator or photoshop are more difficult to beginner users. Adobe photoshop is a platform that allows users to edit graphics and images. Adobe products aren’t free but is definitely worth the purchase if you are looking to edit and create visuals.

Posting the right visuals on social media can be difficult at times. There is still a way to get better at picking the right visuals but it just takes some practice. Some good tips when it comes to visuals on social media are to always remember to think about your audiences and to take advantage of communicating with them. Understanding what your audience likes and dislikes are very important when it comes to social media. The best way to engage with your viewers is to try and talk to them. Post videos, visuals, or discussion topics that will get them involved so that you understand them more.

BLOG #1: Why I Took Cap 105 And My Experience With Technology

I took Cap 105 simply just because it was a credit I needed to pursue my degree in the advertising field. I have taken a class that was similar to Cap 105 the year prior and I enjoyed that class and I am hoping I enjoy this one too. I don’t have much to say about why I took Cap 105 but I do have a lot to talk about when it comes to my experience with technology.

My experiences with technology came mostly from making my own clothes. I use to work at a tee shirt making company that made custom apparel on site. They taught me how to use programs such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel. After practicing these tools I started to use them to my personal benefit and began designing and creating my own clothes. Once I got comfortable enough with my products and after giving away dozens of free shirts and pants I started to mess around with website creator programs and sites. I made my own website on shopify and learned how to sell and ship clothes online. I also learned how to track how many people came to my site, what products people looked at the most, and what products sold the fastest. Those would be my most valuable skills I have picked up and experienced with technology in my life. Of course I’ve also used apps like Twtiter and Instagram but I don’t enjoy them so I don’t really keep up with them.

I have a few things that I am excited to learn in Cap 105 this semester. One thing I am excited for is to learn more about creating and running sites and blogs that I have made. I want to become more familiar with these skills. I also am looking forward to learn more about how important technology is in advertising and when it should be used in order to be the most efficient. I am looking forward to learning more about slack and learning how to use it to the fullest. It seems like a clean and easy way to contact other workers in the office or even other students in the class. I’m also am curious to learn how to properly write a blog post because I am sure I did a lot wrong in this one. I’m not sure how my writing should be and also how to properly set up everything on my site. Hopefully it won’t be difficult to learn and I get to utilize wordpress better.

Also my picture is one of my first designs I drew in photoshop!cropped-img_7927.png

Thanks for joining me!
